Birds, blossoms, and warm breezes

The sweet evening sound of the woodcock returns in the meadows in the dusky evenings. The first tree swallow performs its air show on a bright sunny day! Bluebirds have begun to nest in our front porch box, ahhhh the splendid pleasures of SPRING!!!
Crocus are blooming and the buds on the trees are about to burst. Little green shoots show their tips in the fresh scented earth.

Pied Piper

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! For fun today I played the bagpipes for the children at my school during lunch. They were so interested and in awe as I marched into the lunchroom. Cute! Some of them put their hands over their ears.

The students were getting up after they were finished with their lunches to dance so I showed them how to hold their fingers like a Highland Dancer and then they danced around the lunchroom. They were having so much fun!! The biggest joy of teaching is to see children learning and having fun. A great time was had by all!! And to you, Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Eggs for Easter?

These eggs are so fun to make that I now have a Halloween tree as well as an Easter tree. Wonder if I should start on Christmas eggs. Actually a friend of mine made Christmas eggs for people in her family and friends. I use the wax resist method that the Ukranians use. The process is slow but I love how relaxing it is to just create these darling eggs. Your limitations are endless, if you can think of a design you can make an egg. Also you can use some of the traditional Ukranian styles. I hope you enjoy the creations I shared today and thank-you for reading my blog.

Embroidery and Pillows

Another fun craft I learned to make was using old vintage embroidery and cute fabrics to make pillows. I added the buttons for a little extra sweetness. Trouble is that I like all of them so much I will have trouble selling any of them when I participate in Farmers Markets this summer.

All Natural Soaps

These are my yummy smelling all natural soaps made with all natural oils, palm, coconut and olive. They are non drying and make loads of bubbles. The scents are from either essential oils or cosmetic grade fragrance oils. I started making soap this past winter when my skin was so dry from regular store bought soaps that are made with so many chemicals and who knows what else. Many of my fellow teachers have bought these soaps and comments are all positive. They love the smells.

Sun and Fun

Today is beautiful! After work I let my Golden girl out of her kennel and she was full of energy, running around and around making all types of "hello" noise. She is my girl, LOVE her as if she were my child. We are really close and she is the best girl ever. As you can see she is
NOT A SPOILED baby dog girl. Yeah, right!!! Enjoy!!!
She loves to get ready for bed, cuddled under covers and ready to snooze.

Spring is coming

Today as I walked the meadows I heard Sandhill Cranes overhead. Also the sharp trill of the Redwing Blackbird although I did not see either one of them.
But I did see several Robin's bouncing up and down in the yard as if saying. "Where are you worms?" My Golden Retriever Adi was jumping around lookng for bunnies and other creatures hiding under brush. Joyous Spring, you are near!
