More Day Lilies

Summer went too fast and I had little time to enjoy the garden this year due to other obligations.  Will be putting the lilies to sleep for the winter and will look forward to next spring and summer when all will bloom again.

Day lily Dead of Night, I believe I now have just a bit over fifty different types of day lilies.  This is one of my favorite. 

Horses, Horses!

A pysanka (Ukrainian:  plural: pysanky) is a Ukrainian Easter egg,, decorated using a wax-resist (batik) method. The word comes from the verb pysaty, "to write", as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.. The word pysanka refers specifically to an egg decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs, and is not a generic term for any egg decorated using wax resist.

This egg with horses is a traditional Ukrainian folk design. It is one of my favorites and it hangs on my egg tree in my studio! 

Many Halloween and fall eggs will be on display during the Arts and Eats tour on October 20-21, 2012.

Bright flowers on a fall day!

These bright flowers cheer a dreary fall day!
Made from all recycled materials.  The sunflowers look great in a grouping next to pumpkins, corn stalks and other autumn decor. 

Chill in the evening air!

Days are warm but there is an evening chill in the air that let's us know that fall is closing in on us!  Fall is my favorite season, apple pie, pumpkins, cider and donuts, crunchy leaves, Halloween, Thanksgiving and this year the Arts and Eats Tour!  We will be sharing our studios with fellow fall lovers and art connoisseurs. 

Wedding Favors and Lavender

June is the month for weddings, seems I have one to go to every weekend. One special wedding on June 11th will have Meadow Medley favors. Wee organza bags with Lavender embroidery. Inside a small bar of soap, the scent, Lavender with Lavender buds of course! The vintage embroidery pillows are also filled with lavender buds from the garden. These will be given to the ladies of the wedding party.
